Seeing how prisoners behind bars have so few ways of making themselves heard, and knowing that it is behind the walls of prisons and police stations that most serious violations of human rights take place, I combined my skills with my passion and inner determination to help these people be heard.

My career has followed my passionate interest in human behavior, and the causes behind the decisions and metamorphoses that people undergo in the lead-up to committing good deeds or crimes. I believe that every person can be given a chance to reflect on their actions and make a change, and I also believe that in addition to those who investigate and apply penalties, there must also be people who shall oversee the arrest and imprisonment sentences in general, to make sure that these are within the limits of the law and to avoid causing additional suffering to those in custody.

I am a kind of “guardian”, working to ensure the balance between legal provisions, international recommendations, and the reality behind bars.
